Youth Minister – Bryan Brown

Bryan is the youth minister here at Friendly Avenue, and works primarily with our 6th-12th grade students. In addition to coordinating the educational and programing aspects of our youth ministry, he oversees our summer youth ministry intern program. Bryan also shares his abilities in graphic design to assist the church in some of its design needs.

Music and Children’s Minister – Christopher Chaffin

ChristopherChaffin has been a music minister since 1987.  He has a B.A. in Music Education from Lipscomb University, and has led vocal and instrumental ensembles for over 25 years as both teacher and clinician.  An avid performer, he has sung at NFL and NBA games, has had ensembles perform on national television, performed at the Ryman Auditorium, Bluebird Cafe, Nashville Symphony, Nashville Wind Ensemble, Atlanta Symphony Chorus, and has worked with several contemporary Christian artists.  Chris leads singing and worship clinics, and has extensive experience working with praise teams and choirs.  Christopher was a Lean Six Sigma consultant and trainer, project manager, and Microsoft Certified Partner at Dell Computers for 10 years.  Chris is Co-Owner , writer, and arranger for A View of Worship, publishes through Triad Music, and is registered with BMI as a composer and arranger.

Christopher is married to Valerie (neé Walker) Chaffin (’91, Lispcomb Univ).  They have two children, Ethan and Kai’a.  The family enjoy involvement in local arts through choir, band, ballet, and are avid supporters of Drum Corps.  The family home schools the children and is active with Friendly Educators Home School Tutorial.

 

Spanish Language Minister – Willie Costa

Willie is our Hispanic Minister. He coordinates our church’s efforts to reach out into the Spanish- language community in Guilford County. In addition to his outreach efforts, Willie also preaches for the weekly Spanish-language service, and he works to build community among the Hispanic group at Friendly. Willie grew up in Uruguay, South America, and moved to the United States in 1987.

Preaching Minister – Jason Noble

Jason is the preaching minister at Friendly Avenue. In addition to preaching and teaching, Jason provides leadership for the church staff and works closely with the Friendly Avenue elders. He maintains a blog at www.jasonnobleone.com.

  • Over 15 years in full-time ministry serving churches in Texas and North Carolina
