To a visitor, genuine friendliness and an attentive community are important qualities of a church and guests seem to know immediately if they are in a place of welcome and acceptance. We understand it might be difficult to join a community where everyone is comfortable with their own routines and their own acquaintances. We seek to overcome this for our visitors by creating a warm, inviting place for everyone who enters our fellowship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We strive to show the love of Christ to our guests and welcome them into our family through the following ways:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"welcome-center\">Welcome Center<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>The Welcome Center is a hub of activity on Sunday mornings. It\u2019s a place for people to receive information and directions for the various classes and activities provided by Friendly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Attendants are available to answer questions, hand out information&nbsp;and direct guests to the nursery, children, youth and adult classes. It\u2019s also the place to get connected with a small group or involved in a special event. For more information on joining our staff of attendants, please&nbsp;contact <a href=\"mailto:mark@brown-adv.com\">Mark Brown<\/a> or the <a title=\"Contact\" href=\"http:\/\/friendlyave.org\/contact\/\">church office<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"guest-information-connection-cards-membership-forms\">Guest Information \/ Connection Cards \/ Membership Forms<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>The&nbsp;Hospitality Ministry seeks ways&nbsp;to identify and minister to both visitors and regular attendees. By filling out a Guest Information Form we are able to recognize first-time guests and reach out to them with a gift, a welcoming phone call, a card in the mail, or perhaps a visit at home or over coffee. &nbsp;For those who have been visiting for a while we also have forms available for those who would like to choose Friendly as their church home. &nbsp;New members often want to visit with a minister or elder to discuss how to get involved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Little things mean a lot when you\u2019re new to a church. And for regular attendees, Connection Cards&nbsp;(a tear-off section in the Sunday program) allow leadership to follow up with anyone who\u2019s been absent for awhile. On the back of the card is a place to communicate needs or prayer requests. &nbsp;Every card is read each week by our staff, and needs and prayer requests are followed up by our ministers and elders. &nbsp;A simple phone call to say \u201chey, you\u2019ve been missed\u201d or perhaps an offer of a cup of coffee and conversation can be just what\u2019s needed. It&#8217;s&nbsp;a great opportunity for Friendly&nbsp;to foster and grow Christian community, and to help our church&nbsp;minister effectively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"who-to-contact\">Who To Contact<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>The Hospitality Ministry of Friendly Avenue Church of Christ&nbsp;is an opportunity to transform strangers into friends.
