Most churches never lose their mission because they forget what it is; we get pulled off mission when the weight of suffering presses in from the outside or when anxiety and petty friction begin to fray our relationships on the inside.
Under that kind of pressure, our human reflex is to retreat into a bunker, close our doors, and hoard our energy in frantic self-preservation.
Today, as we gather around 1 Peter 4:7–9, God grounds us in the essential realities we need to stay on mission in a shaken world. We discover that because our future is already secure in Christ, we do not have to live in fearful retreat; instead, the Lord calls us to clear our heads, defend the prayer post, and receive the supernatural power we need to love deeply and throw our hearts and homes wide open to a watching world.
Let’s worship together as we reset our focus, quiet the noise, and recommit together to the mission Christ has entrusted to our care.
