Time with the Father

Today’s sermon explores the importance of prayer in the life of Jesus (Mark 1:35-39) and his disciples (that’s us). It highlights how Jesus withdrew to solitary places for prayer to empower his ministry and strengthen his relationship with God the Father. Prayer is essential for sustaining kingdom work and maintaining a strong connection with God because, as you know well, the challenges and sacrifices involved in sacrificially loving others can drain us. Here is the bottom line: we must prioritize prayer in our own lives (and our life together) as we engage in the work of the kingdom.
