These are the days of John the Baptist (Elijah?). Days of trial and suffering. But also, these are the days of God’s power breaking the stronghold of evil, the light of his Son chasing away the darkness, and the presence of his Spirit renewing what is in decay. These are the days of the coming of Jesus, the Messiah, the Son of God.
Join us this morning as we begin our journey with Jesus through the gospel of Mark. Often thought of as the first gospel written, Mark carries us along a fast-paced journey to the cross and resurrection. Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and he calls those who will hear and understand to follow him into a life of suffering and subsequent glory.
The journey begins in Mark 1:1-8, and the question is will you follow?
Our theme for 2023 is 'Love. Learn. Love.', which is taken from Matthew 22:34-40 and Matthew 28:16-20. Throughout the year we will give our attention to the teachings of Jesus and what it means to follow Him @home, w/the church, &beyond.
