What Simeon Saw

Singing and Christmas go together, and it's been that way since the time of Jesus' birth. The story of the arrival of Jesus, the Hero of Israel, in the gospel of Luke is carried along by three songs--the song of Mary, the song of Zechariah, and the song of a man named Simeon. Each of these songs teach us something about the baby born in Bethlehem. Today, we will hear again Simeon's song, as it celebrates what Simeon saw when he took the child, Jesus, into his arms. That story can be found in Luke 2:25-35.
