The scripture reading for today's sermon is Luke 10:1-3; however, about half the sermon will focus on Luke 9:57-62—as a preamble. It would be beneficial to read that too. Our message today will come from these two passages as we think about what it means to follow Jesus. Hint: we are sent out to proclaim the kingdom of God like sheep among the wolves. Yes, it is a risky as it sounds, but we go anyway—trusting God’s provision and protection. Afterall, he is Lord of the Harvest!
