He Is Called Wonderful
Isaiah 9:6 prophesied about the coming Messiah, who would be called wonderful. The coming of Jesus is another, and arguably the greatest expression of God’s wonderment. When the faithful of God behold the created world, they have long been struck by the marvelous and wonderful revelation exploding from the all the matter and anti-matter in the universe. All of creation sings a song to God's glory. The sails steering our worship this morning will catch the wind from two passages: Isaiah 9:6-7 and Psalm 139. Both of these passages give our minds passage to a land where we take sight of the wonder of God and the arrival of Jesus. Underneath the wonder, however, is a troubling current; that is: He is called wonderful, but not by everybody.
